The Alliance for Commodity Trade in Eastern and Southern Africa (ACTESA), a COMESA Specialized Agency through the COMESA-EAC Horticulture Accelerator (CEHA), invites agribusinesses in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Rwanda to apply for Matching Grants designed to accelerate the growth and sustainability of horticultural value chains. This is in line with the CEHA Matching Grants Facility Implementation and Award Modality (MG FIAM) aiming at support innovative agribusiness projects that contribute to the improvement of farming household incomes, rural economic development, and gender equity via horticultural value chains across the region. In addition to financial support, the programme offers tailored non-financial assistance, including business development advice, value chain integration, and market access facilitation.
GRANT DETAILS
- Funding Range: USD 25,000 to USD 100,000.
- Matching Requirement: Applicants must contribute a minimum of 50% of the total project cost, either in cash or in-kind.
In addition to funding, successful applicants will gain access to:
- Business Development Support: Training on business planning, financial management, and inclusive horticulture strategies.
- Market Access and Partnerships: Opportunities to link with regional buyers, suppliers, and logistics providers.
- Capacity Building: Technical assistance to improve productivity, post-harvest handling, and food safety systems.
- Investor Readiness: Matchmaking with local and regional investors, as well as ongoing investment mentorship for select grantees.
