Cairo, Monday, December 9, 2018: A strong COMESA delegation has arrived in Cairo for the 1st Intra- Africa Trade Fair (IATF) that takes place from Tuesday 11 to 17 December 2018. The fair is organized by the Africa Export and Import Bank (AfreximBank) and the African Union Commission in collaboration with the Government of Egypt.

Themed ‘Transforming Africa’ the event brings together continental and global players to showcase their products and explore business and investment opportunities in Africa.

For COMESA, it presents an opportunity to engage directly with its stakeholders and create awareness on the opportunities that its regional trade and investment regime provides to investment seekers and businesses people.

The fair will help the 21-member bloc establish avenues for the promotion of COMESA products within the region and beyond and attract Foreign Direct Investments.

The participating COMESA Institutions are: the COMESA Competition Commission, COMESA Regional Investment Authority, Trade and Development Bank, COMESA Clearing House and COMESA Business Council.

COMESA team is led by Secretary General Ms. Chileshe Kapwepwe and includes programme directors and chief executives of COMESA institutions.
