The East African Community (EAC) is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising the Republic of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The EAC Secretariat has received a grant from the African Development Bank to finance the 50 Million African Women Speak Networking Platform Project (50MWS) to create a dynamic Digital Networking Platform for women entrepreneurs in collaboration with the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS).

The development of the Platform was completed, and it is currently being operationalized after being launched in November 2019. The EAC Secretariat would like to engage a technology firm to design and integrate an SMS-based verification functionality to the 50 Million African Women Speak Networking Platform (50MAWSP) using OTP authentication.

The East African Community Secretariat (EAC) is now inviting eligible and capable consulting firms to express their interest for providing services to design and integrate an SMS-based verification functionality to the 50 Million African Women Speak Networking Platform (50MAWSP) using OTP authentication. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of past similar assignments, availability of appropriate skills/qualifications among staff etc). Consultant may constitute joint – ventures to enhance their chances of qualifications. A consultant will be selected in accordance with Quality and cost based selection (QCBS) method.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and selection procedures shall be in accordance with African Development Bank’s rules and procedures for the use of consultants (2008. Revised July 2012), which is available on the bank’s website http://www.afdb.org
