Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni has landed in Nairobi to attend the 21st Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) International Trade and Business Summit.
Museveni is among high profile delegates from the 21 COMESA member states who will gather at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) for the week-long forum organised by the government of Kenya in partnership with COMESA.
The high-level business summit will bring together heads of states who will interact with business leaders on, among other things, key strategies to enhance industry competitiveness and formulate strategies to enhance local sourcing and intra-regional trade.
According to the organisers, the forum will also offer an opportunity for networking among businesses which will be able to learn what other industry players are doing through exhibitions and business to business linkages.
The forum will address manufacturing competitiveness, digitization and trade facilitation, digital financial services and regional payment systems, standards and quality issues, smart and sustainable cities and the continental free trade area.
